To realize our growth ambitions within our smart devices practice, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Native). Someone who thrives on designing heavily loaded backend environments, monitoring technical standards, and brainstorming digital solutions that truly make a difference within mobile applications for millions of users.

Your role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for the cloud architecture and backend processes of our smart device applications. You build the scalable, invisible engine behind high-quality innovations and ensure that backends are optimized by default for mobile apps.

You are analytically strong, communicatively skilled, and you get energy from translating complex business requirements into logical cloud infrastructures. You work closely with our multidisciplinary development teams and proactively think about data security, cloud costs, and scalability. No rush jobs, but engineering with depth and vision.

What you will be doing:

• Designing and programming complex cloud-native architectures and APIs (AWS Serverless, microservices) with a focus on clean code.

• Translating complex customer queries into stable cloud infrastructures and explaining this clearly to both developers and the customer.

• Proactively monitoring and optimizing application uptime, API performance, data security, and cloud costs (FinOps).

• Reviewing code, monitoring technical standards, and coaching other developers within the team.

• Effectively collaborating asynchronously, documenting, and delivering code within a distributed, remote-first team.

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a Bachelor's degree level of education and several years of experience in successfully building large-scale, complex cloud-native applications. You have already gained experience with AWS and know how to design a stable infrastructure for mobile applications (such as iOS and Android). Modern software development such as Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code holds no secrets for you.

You are a true mastermind of code who enjoys architectural puzzles and remains calm during critical go-live moments. You unconditionally strive for technical craftsmanship and enjoy sharing your knowledge to elevate the entire team. You understand that this role is about bridging the customer's needs with the ultimate technical solution. Furthermore, you are residing in the Netherlands.
